7:30 AM. Woke up and fell back asleep. 9:30 AM. Once awake, went off to take a shower. Back in my room, I met
Jaime from Spain. He's going to stay here for one year, the lucky bastard. Chatted for a while and getting ready
to go out.
Checked my e-mails and took the bus to Circular Quay. It was a little bit cloudy today, but still nice for a
Harbour Cruise in Sydney. Staying on deck, taking pictures and enjoying the most beautiful harbour in the world.
On the water everything looked pretty calm, while we passed along the many places in the harbour. I won't mind
living here; it's such a great city!
Back on shore, I walked to the Sydney Opera House, to buy two souvenirs for my ex-colleague. He visited Down
Under almost two years ago just like me, but didn't buy souvenirs at the Opera House. He asked me by e-mail,
because Australia isn't around the corner. One item was sold out, but fortunately the second one wasn't. Not
really sure, I didn't buy it. Better send him an e-mail first to inquire. Looked at other stores if they had
any souvenirs too, but no luck.
Time for lunch, bought a menu at the Sushi Bar and went back to the hostel. Checking my e-mails first and
replying too. In the dining room, ate my fresh sushi. My second Sushi experience! Yummy! Just delicious!
Time is near. My holiday is almost over. That makes me really sad, I had such a great time here. So much to do
here and things I still had to visit. Time flies when you're having fun. No time to sit around here, need to
buy souvenirs before going home. The Paddy's Market was just a walking distance away. It was pretty crowded
and there are a lot of souvenir shops where you can buy all sorts of things. Walked down each lane to see if
I could find something interesting to buy. There were a couple of shirts I really wanted, so in no time I was
spending my money like water. Also bought souvenirs for my cousins, loaded with bags and a full backpack I
returned to the hostel.
I'm not going to carry all the souvenirs all the time, so I went to the post office, but they were already
closed. Must do it tomorrow! Back at the hostel, ate some Pringles and drank some mineral water. Needed to
buy some groceries for my last couple of days. went off to the supermarket inside Market City.
It's pretty nice, that everything is at walking distance away. Bought some more mineral water, Gatorade, egg
rolls and other things to eat. Dinner at a noodle bar inside Market City. Ordered noodles with seafood. The
meal wasn't so bad.
After dinner walked back to the hostel. In my room, wrote my diary and listened to music. Marco came back from
his long day, we talked about what we had done today. Marco told me, he saw things you won't see it every day.
Funny! Didn't want to spend the whole evening in my room. I decided to come along with Marco. We walked down
the streets and went to Oxford Street. Visited a bar, but there wasn't much people here, went off to another
bar. Drank a couple of soft drinks. We entered the CA Bar, had to write down your name and your e-mail address
as well. Not a problem! Standing close to the bar, we watched musicians perform their songs.
Later on there was a prize draw. Guest what? My name was pulled out of the box. My goodness! I was thinking
for a relaxed and quiet evening. Now I had to get my prize; A Bob Dylan CD, not bad and we just arrived here.
What an evening! Listened to a couple of songs, we decided to leave. As we walked back to the hostel, Marco
saw a fortune teller. I decided to wait, while his future was predicted. It lasted forever, I gave Marco a
sign that I was going to an internet cafe, just across the street. OK! Checking my e-mails and surf the
internet on an iMac. The first one i've seen here in Sydney.
Back outside again, Marco was not really done yet. It took another 15 minutes before it was done. Marco
thought it was just quick, but it wasn't at all. We walked back to the hostel, freshened up and went off
to bed.
