Day38

Back Home

Thursday 22 November
It is midnight now in Singapore. Boarded the airplane. I sat down twice on the wrong seat number. Nice job! I had finally found my seat beside the windows, nice. Two other persons sitting next to me, where from Holland too! How nice to talk in Dutch again, but sometimes an English word slipped out before I knew it. Quite funny, because the last five week I talked and read in English. Now I had to switch back to Dutch. The airplane was delayed, because our tow truck broke down. We had to wait for another one, due to that we also miss out our slot. Another couple of minutes of delay, before we could take off.

The flight back home was very pleasant. It looks like we are travelling a lot faster on the way back than on my flight to Australia. During the flight I played a couple of GameBoy games, slept from time to time, read a book and before I knew it we are already in Holland. We touched down very gentle at Schiphol Airport. Passed custom and walked straight to the luggage room. It took a while before the luggage came. Picked up my backpack and made my way through the airport.

It was just 7:30 AM, a little bit early and I didn't sleep well the last hours of the flight. Bought a train ticket to my home town. I was starving, so I went to Burger King to buy something to eat. Had to wait in line, but over 5 minutes my train would leave. Oh, the stress! In Australia I didn't care about time, but once back here in Holland it's coming back. The hectic lifestyle and everything else. I wish I was still in Australia! Fortunately my burger was served pretty quickly. Rushed to the train and hopped on. Just a few minutes later the train left the station.

Sitting comfortable I started to eat my delicious hamburger. Listened to music and closed my eyes. Needed some rest. Just over an hour I should arrive in my town. Took the bus back home. Drank some juice and was so tired of the trip. It wasn't noon yet, but I needed some sleep. Three days left to rest before going back to work. I can't believe it my holiday is over! Six weeks off from work. Time really flies, when you are having fun, and fun I had! Seen so much, done a lot, met lots of people, just amazing! Definitely going to visit Australia once again in the near future. Australia Rocks!

The End
