Surfers Paradise

Tuesday 23 October

Around 9.00 AM. Chris brought some of us to their optionals for today. I went along but didn't choose an optional, instead I just wanted to walk for a while. The first stop was at SeaWorld. Said goodbye and started to walk from SeaWorld all the way back to Surfers Paradise.

It's sunny today, so I put on some sun block and a cap. The beach was deserted and quiet peaceful, not spoiled by crowded people. I met a man from Scotland on the beach. He has been living here for more than 53 years. Things have changed throughout the years. We talked about the place and things.

After some time I said goodbye and walked further. Took some pictures of the surroundings and moved on. Later on I saw a sign: Trespassing private area penalty $ 30,000 AUD! Yikes! I wasn't aware of that I was trespassing and moved on quickly. Fortunately no one saw me there.

Walked to the beach and stayed there for a while. Enjoying the scenery. Many streets were closed, because of the Indy 500 coming later this week. Preparations were made to ensure that everything is going well. Finally reached Surfers Paradise and went out for some shopping.

Bought a shirt and comfortable footwear. Tried some footwear but nothing beats Teva's footwear! It was quite expensive footwear $ 149,95 AUD, but worth it. Walked around a bit and saw the sea again. The longer I was watching the sleepier I felt. I bought a ham & cheese roll for a snack and headed back to the hotel. Rested a little bit.

Around 6:15 PM. Almost the whole group went to Draculas Cabaret Restaurant. Thanks to Jens, he gave me advice that I shouldn't miss out this one. I'm glad that I followed his advice. The food was good and the performances were really fantastic! Around 11:30 PM. I went back to the hotel. I'm not really a nightcrawler, so went off to bed.
