Andora Downs to Fraser Island

Thursday 25 October

Today Pauline and Laura are leaving the group as we are continuing our trip further north. While travelling on we listen to music and I got time to make sketches for my next website of the trip. Getting some ideas for my website saves me a lot of time, when i'm back in Holland.

Around noon we arrived at the Forest Glen Sanctuary for lunch. We also got the aportunity to see some koalas, emus and kangaroos. It was quite warm today. Next visit was Noosa, a place for the rich and famous. We had about 1.5 hours of free time in Noosa, for a swim, to eat or what ever. This time I decided to do nothing at all and left my camera in the coach. Strolled down the shopping mall, checked my e-mails, bought something to eat at the bakery and walked to the beach. It was quite sunny today.

The beach was large and many people were here to relax, to swim or getting a tan. Sat down at some rocks and enjoying my snacks while watching the sea. it's so peaceful here, just listen to the voice of the sea and to relax. Couldn't sit to long, because I got a little bit sleepy while watching.

Walked to the beach and sat down by the group Germans. Enjoying the beachlife and walked along the shore. The water was very nice and warm. After a while it was time to leave the beach and bought more groceries before heading back to the coach.

3:30 PM. We were heading to Hervey Bay to board our ferry to Fraser Island. 7:15 PM. We arrived at the Kingfisher Bay Resort and made our way up hill to the Wilderness Lodge. The road was very steep to our accommodation. Time to relax before dinner time. 8:30 PM. Dinner. Rice, meat, beans, corn, etc. Tasty! Afterwards we had a couple of drinks and some dancing at the Wilderness Bar right next to eating area. The Wilderness Lodge was situated far away from the other resorts, because we made lots of noise. That gave us the opportunity to party deep into the night.

Derek asked me if I could capture some of the events on tape. No worries! Some weird things happened tonight. Drink contests with a long nozzle, were they put in some alcoholic drinks. Dogstyle drinking, spit contest, drink a bottle of beer as fast you can. Quite a laugh to see them perform and drink. Captured some more events during the evening. Around midnight back to the lodge to catch some sleep. First I can still heard the loud music in the middle of the night, but that faded away. Sleepy... Zzz...
