Day1

Amsterdam to Singapore

Tuesday 16 October

Schiphol Airport

Departure area at Schiphol Airport

6:30 AM. The alarm clock went off. Time to get out of my bed. Packed my last stuff into my backpack. Freshened up and went downstairs for breakfast and watched the news.

7:20 AM. My mom and I went to the bus station. I told her she didn't have to come with me. It's a short walk anyway. The bus arrived on time, said goodbye to my mom and went off to the train station. Already bought a train ticket the day before, so no need to wait in line. The train arrived on time, that's a rarity these days.

9:10 AM. I arrived at Schiphol Airport. It took 45 minutes before I could check-in at Singapore Airlines. Got some time left to stroll down the airport.

10:00 AM. I ate at McDonalds, just a small menu before boarding time. Two customs checks before I could board the airplane. The security was tight, since the disaster in New York. After a delay of 30 minutes, the airplane took off. Within a few minutes we flew above the clouds. It's my first flight with Singapore Airlines. From what I have heard and know, I'm flying with one of the best airline companies in the world.

On board there was enough entertainment for the long-distance flight. In front of each seat there was a LCD-screen, a dozen of movies to watch and radio channels to listen to. But the most important thing was, they had Nintendo! Yes, playing videogames will kill time. Around 35 games to choose from. Yes, indeed the ideal way not to get bored under way! The meals were great, loved the food and not even got sick at all. Later on I didn't feel well, but not because of the food. We flew at a high altitude and the body had to adjust. The crew on board was very nice and helpful. Next
