Day4

China Town & Darling Harbour

Friday 19 October

5:15 Am. Awoke and fell back asleep 'till around 7:30 AM. Took a shower and did the laundry. In the meantime did some stretching and put some balsam on my legs. Read the official Sydney Guide I had picked up from the airport. Just to see what I'm going to do today. I didn't want to walk too long and covering long distances.

9:00 AM. I was heading to the Paddy's Markets to see what's going on down there. Saw lots of things to buy and the average prices are lower than in the ordinary souvenir shops. The market was pretty crowded, it looked like everyone was on a bargain hunt.

The second stop was China Town, it wasn't as quite impressive as I had imagined. Many stores were situated in Dixon Street. Lots of take aways. Took some pictures and went to the Chinese Garden of Friendship. A small place in crowded Sydney, where you can see the beautifully well designed Chinese Gardens. There was also wood carving to see and Bonsai trees. Impressive to see all the nice things.

Next, to Cockle Bay for a nice and relaxing stroll along the harbour. 2:00 PM. Lunch, today I tried some seafood, fried rice, squid, vegetables and orange juice. Yummy! Walked along the many stores and visited the Tin Soldier, a special store where you can buy things for your hobby. I like Warhammer 40K, it's a fantasy role playing game and a very time consuming one.

After a while I walked back on George Street and bought groceries at Woolworths. Three bottles of juice, mineral water, some fresh fruit bowls and some snacks. At the hostel I ate a little bit and rested a while. I went to Global Gossip to check my e-mails and replying e-mails. Later in the evening Simon and I went out for dinner above the Paddy's Market. There was a food court with lots of different kinds of food to choose from. I had chosen a Combination Laksa, noodles with a mixture of seafood, prawns, squid, etc. Oh Yeah! The meal was delicious!

After dinner we headed to Darling Harbour and took a stroll along Cockle Bay. My back is killing me! I had walked the whole day with my backpack. Off to the internet-cafe to show Simon my website and to write some e-mails. Back at the hostel I slept for a brief moment woke up and prepared myself for going to bed. I was exhausted. Next
